About Us

Driving Success is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded by Michele and Kevin Peters in 2021 to increase independence and self-sufficiency in our community by providing a path to vehicle ownership for hardworking, economically challenged individuals and families to keep them working and driving toward success.

Michele Peters is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) who has worked in the fundraising field for nearly 20 years. Kevin Peters has worked in the automotive industry for nearly 30 years. Together Michele and Kevin began their journey by combining their individual fields of expertise and opening a small auto broker, used vehicle dealership in 2018. Their primary goal was to provide low cost, quality preowned vehicles for lower income individuals and families. They would purchase preowned vehicles at auction for the lowest price they could get, repair the vehicles and sell them for cash at the lowest price possible to people in need of quality transportation to get to and from work. Michele and Kevin would either break even on the sale of the vehicle or make a small profit to cover office expenses and to serve more individuals.

What Michele and Kevin realized after three years of operation, is that there is a greater need in the Indian River community than they originally thought. Hardworking families are in need of reliable transportation to maintain their employment, however they were never able to save enough cash to purchase a vehicle out right. These families were forced to seek financing through predatory lenders and unscrupulous dealers who charge very high interest rates due to the clients poor credit. In the end, making vehicle ownership more of a burden, causing them to slip backward rather than forward on the road to success.

This is how Driving Success was born.
